Removing Clocks, Adding LEDs? (Pointy)
Has anyone tried changing the colour of the lights in the clocks on a pointy?
I know you can buy new clock covers or something like that, but I have a few blue LEDs lying around, and thought it could be a free mod! Are the clocks easy enough to remove, and get to the existing bulbs/LEDs? Cheers guys! |

To remove the clocks, you'll need to remove the front fairing.
To do that, it's a screen off jobby. 6 screws/bolts for that. After the screen is off, there's a pop rivet, then the two screws on the side of the fairing. Then pull the fairing forwards & Robert's your mam's brother. From there, the clocks are held on (IIRC) by a couple of bolts, easy to get off. No idea about the internals of them though. Mounting, in the infamous words of Haynes, is done by completing the above steps in reverse. |

As I posted in another thread, putting blue light on your dash may not be the best move due to the way blue light affects the eyes ability to focus.
I am not qualified to know just how much cack that is - could be perfectly fine, but just something to consider. If you have the LED's lying around, might be worth bodging some to your clock surround and seeing how it is before you split the clocks open. |

My VW Passat has blue lights on the dials as standard so I can't imagine it's an issue. |
