Another bike lowering thread....

I know this comes up a lot and I?ve found some good info through searching, but have some questions.

How much do the lowered seats actually lower by? Are they just as comfortable? Those that have scooped out their OE seat, how much lower is it, and is it still comfortable?

It seems impossible to lower the front by more than about 10mm, because it looks like the forks will bottom out, so wont the lights be pointing skyward? I take a pillion quite a bit which is bad enough so I don?t really want to make it worse!

If I lowered the forks 10mm, and the rear 25/30mm, would the handling be noticeably upset?

To lower the forks do you just undo the 4 clamps on the fork legs and slide them through?

I put a lowered seat on my K6. I can now put both feet flat on the floor (i'm 5'6"). I think the 'official' measurement is 20mm lower. It didn't feel uncomfortable for me and I rode from Hartlepool, down to Hemel Hempstead (around 230miles) then back again and I didn't find it any better or worse comfort wise than the original seat.

Hope that helps a bit.;)

Cheers Sammy.

The seats are different on some models aren't they? Which years will fit my K4?

Does anyone know what the torc setting should be for the two bolts used to lower / raise the back end?

Thanks.

Colin.
