Im rapidly heading that way..

Im holding on as I am moving hopefully by september, however if the house goes on the market and doesnt look like it will sell I will HAVE to change jobs.

I know the construction industry can be a hard nosed industry but i didnt realise it was full of complete IDIOTS... and I mean IDIOTS.... complete thicko's the kind of ppl that your supprised actually rember to keep brething.

I have tried oh so many times to change my attitude i case it was me, Iv tried everything but alas I know have no option but to blame this setup here..

I spend my entire days answereing stupid questions which I have already answered twice but due to changes ins taff I have had to answer a third time, then they build somethign else because it was esier or because they had a cuppa and decided differently...

Im through.. I've had it... and I pray ill be out of here so soon... I dont even care if the grass doesnt look greener... im frapped and dont even want to come here in the mornings any more..

any way rant mode off...

Yeah, been there. Still dealing with it.

At the start I loved my job, but then it turned and I ended up stressed, violated and depressed.

same here. I was really fed up doing the same stuff every day but it took me ages to make the decision to leave and act on it. It was worth it though, 3 weeks into a new job and the grass is definitely greener. (crosses fingers)

yup! done it before and want to do it now. dont work for the police!

just got turned down for a job today so i feel great! on the plus side some old biddy has just handed what appears to be a hand grenade into the station so the whole place is shut until they can make it safe! 2 hour lunch break. sweet!

I approached my then manager, and raised my concerns. They said things would be looked into but this would take time etc. Understandable.

Then a couple of months later, the straw that broke the camels back, I was blamed for something beyond my control, when I'd complained about that very thing happening a few months before. Nothing had changed.

I had a meeting with the same manager, but this time included the MD responsible for my department.

The meeting was along the lines of "This is wrong, that is wrong, I was promised this would be sorted out. It's just happened again, and I'm leaving. Immediately. My resignation has already been emailled to the both of you. Good bye!"

Needless to say, on the ride home that day, I felt very free!

I'm in the same boat myself, the company i'm working for is ran by incompitent bufoons, there's no direction, leadership, everyman/woman is out for themselves.
Doesn't help that they're laying off half the shopfloor in order to move our product line out to Turkey (staff will be next hit :pale:), so morale is at an all time low.
I'll just keep plodding away until something better turns up :D

Yes - at my last job. I hated it, the shareholders didn't have a clue and had removed the MD thinking that some new bloke would change things overnight. I was looking for another job when they made the decision for me and sacked me without warning or notice. I made them pay for it though:D
