Hey chaps,

Any ideas on the best high viz wateproofs around to go over my leathers?

Go into a hardware/workware store and get a set of those cheap Hi-Viz yellow jackets and trousers, the thin type that are designed to go over clothing.

Got me some orange trousers for rainy days. I get laughed at a lot, but that is failry common so I'm used to it.

They work a dream (keep you dry) and you certaily get seen!

Personal opinion, don't bother.

If they cannot see you and your bike with your lights on, they are not going to see you because you are wearing 2' of high vis.

It will give you the false impression that they must be able to see me, for god sake I am wearing hi vis. Best advice is to ride like you are invisible and assume nobody can see you

In response to Tim Wilky I would say this. When I was driving a car a biker pulled out in front of me on a dark road when it was raining, he was facing up the road a bit so his light was not that obvious. My lights reflected off his high viz top and I slowed down a lot to not run him down. It was at that point high viz clothes became a no brainer to me.

I do understand your point but my experience has made me think about it differently.

If someone is prepared to look, Hi Viz is much easier to see.
There maybe an argument that it would confuse the person as to what they are looking at, but to me I think ah, that must be a motorcyclist.
A while ago a got a bulk order of ex police jackets that were great, personally I've gone off wearing it now & just rely on a couple of straps on my rucksac.

Do you think police style jackets will make drivers take more notice of you? I see a guy that has the white honda and old bill style garb and he makes me slow down until you realise its him!
