Looking at a new bike

Hey am looking at replacing my sv650n as i want abit more poke really. Current bikes im looking at are:

Bandit 1250
gsxr 600 (possibly 750)
b-king
cb1000r

Now i'll be doing about 200 - 250 miles a week so looking for something fast, n comfy but also good for going for a blast now and again. Also want it to be as reliable as can be really without having to service it all the time. Obviously im gonna test ride some bikes but looking for more of an opinion and known faults to look out for etc (kinda like the water in front plug on the sv) which i only found out recently lol. Oh and i'll be looking to buy new (if that makes any difference)

CB1000R looks damned nice, its only been out 2 weeks though so no idea what the known faults are, it will also cost an arm and kidney to service it I imagine like all new hondas.

I would go for the gsxr600/750 but cant imagine them being massively comfy for 250 miles a week, or again cheap to service.

Talking about comfort though, i find my 600rr more comfortable than my old sv. I can do 100miles without a stop and feel fine, on the Sv I was dying of bumb numbness.

Pretty much everyone thinks their bike's the best one to have. The Gr33k will be along shortly with a rather predictable and defensive post about some old aprillia they don't make anymore.

To my mind there are such brilliant deals on used bikes I can't see why I'd buy new, but I would say test a range of bikes. Try a naked middleweight such as the hornet 600 / Z750 as you may well find it suits you too.

Bandit 1250 - Heavy, but should be bullet-proof.
GSXR600/750 - A brilliant sportsbike, but expensive if you were to drop it...
B-King - Marmite bike, I like it.
CB1000R - Been out approximatly 4 seconds, positive reviews though.

Insurance may be a deciding factor of course:cool:

I think you'll find that MY bike is the best bike. And you can't have it because it's mine :D

Have to admit if I get my redundancy next year I'm going for a testride on the cb1000r, tis lovely.....

Other nakeds to consider if thats what you like

Buell Lightning
Triumph Speed/Street Triple
Z1000/Z750
The new Vmax

Think my next bike will be either a speed triple or cb1000r

Heh, Jambo you are a very naughty man :D

Only thing on your list I've ridden is a GSXR-750. I find it more comfy than my SV was, but neither were as comfy as the faired bandit 600 I had as a loan bike, that was a real mile muncher.

Best advice I can give is to get test rides on those on your list and then make your own mind up.

In that vein, yep the Z750 is the one to go for (not the overpriced Z1000 tho) :P
