Help Please!
 

I was given a pair of oxford heated grips for my bday the other week ... yes heated grips in a realy hot summer.
At least their cheap at the moment though.

my main point was the wiring .... who has fitted these direct to the battery ( any issues or forgetting to turn off leaving a flat battery )??

or has any one wired them into the ignition relay , which i though would be clever as no flat battery ever or is this just more effort than its worth ??

Take the time out to do it properly through a relay.

Direct to the battery has left me having to bump start my old Bandit 600 more than once. This may be because I left it on or someone else clicked it as they went past (less likely). Eitherway it doesn't matter how cold you are, you're too bloody warm after bumping a bike first thing on a cold day!

Taking the power directly through the ignition wiring isn't quite what I'd reccomend either as if there's a fault or they draw too much power and the wiring or fuse burns out your bike now doesn't run.

A relay lets you take power from the batery, and still stop it being enabled when the ignition is off.

hmmmmmmmmm i shull ponder on that one ... what about where the light connect

( also i have no clue about the wireing on this bike )

i had that though aswell what if some one just clicks it on, but the new one i have has the LED's so you should know.

where would be the best place to hook it up to.

dont worry i know you pain, ive bump started an ST4 now that was heavy, and didnt want to start.

Yeah - do it through a relay. A couple of bikes I've bought in teh past has had them direct to the battery - the first left me for dead at work one winter evenign when I'd left them on...

... the second had the battery whipped out and wiring checked as soon as I got it home and then promptly rewired the grips. :roll:

Theres a simple way to do this.
let my dad, who bought them ..fit them
thatll teach him to skimp on presents =]
