Air filter question
Hi all i have a carbon can on my sv650, with the baffles removed now if i were to add a k&n air filter would i need to adjust the fuelling?
As its a k8 with the lambda sensor in the exhaust am i right in thinking that this should compensate for any adjustments to the intake/exhaust system? I do have a slight feeling that my bike is running a bit rich as there is a slight black line running down the exhaust from the end can join, and was thinking if i changed the exhaust to flow more then the lamda sensor may pick up on this and draw more fuel into the engine but as nothing has changed on the intake side then it would run rich. I just dont know how powerful the ecu and lamda sensor are (or what they actually do really) on this bike any1 have any more info regarding fuelling on the newer models many thanks |
Re: Air filter question
Sorry, no idea myself, but I'm sure someone will answer soon.

Re: Air filter question
Should be interesting, no idea how much closed loop "freedom" the lambda sensor has on the new un's.

I agree with Tim :smt111

Re: Air filter question
Do you think it would be likely to damage anything if i go ahead and fit the k&n

Re: Air filter question
Anyone who hasn't tuned one would be pretty daft to answer that question. There are relatively few K8's about, even fewer are tuned.
Ask somewhere knowledgeable, perhaps JHS, as running lean can hurt things. |
