sudden highish idle?

Hi chaps, had a wee search a couldn't find anything, but the problem is this.
Riding home from work, when closing the throttle the bike seemed to idle too high as if the throttle cable was sticking or the choke was still on slightly. and as I pulled up at the house I rev'd the engine a few times to see if I could free the cable, to see if it was that, suddenly all the clocks died killing obviously the idiot lights and indicator circuit with it. Having ridden all week this is the first tme it has ever happened and am puzzeled any Ideas??

Ello,
When you say the clocks died, did the engine stall, or did power to thw whole dash go out. Did the bike start normally after this?

How new is the bike to you? The choke cables are known to stick, there's a Y-piece splitter so it can be working on one carb but stuck on the other.

Re: sudden highish idle?

Hi jambo, Ive had the bike for past 1 1/2yrs , with no probs.
Checked bike over and went a run today. with no return of the high idle, but noticed the 15amp fuse blown. I am now thinking that water may have got in the other day when riding home form work and shorted the indicator circuit ( aftermarket indicators) and the high idle is , like you say sticky choke or throttle and through freak coinsidence, happened all at the same time????

or am I just talking pish!
