Plastic welding

Hi all. Where can I go to get some stuff to weld some small cracks thats are around faring fixing point. None of the plastic has come away so I just need to make it solid again before I prep and spray them.
Cheers.

if its small have used soldering iron on back of panel and melted back together (on a tuned gilera runner lots of vibes) kept together no problems hope that helps ?????????????

Cheers chaps, I'll give the soldering iron a go, great idea! If it doesn't hold I'll go for the adhesive.

Yep, soldering iron- any will do but I've got a stupidly powerful pistol one which isn't very useful for electrical soldering but very good for plastic welding... and if you need a bit more plastic to beef it up, a "welding rod" if you like, that's easy- it needs to be the same sort of plastic, so find a broken panel the same and chop a bit off  Once it's done it's basically one piece again, and almost as strong (it can be more brittle, especially if the plastic overheats)

I fixed my old firings with a bit of fiberglass worked fine and easyer than getting a soldering iron

It's nothing like as strong though, and it still leaves the fairings broken. Very easy though, you're spot on.

I had a friend who repaired his panels by melting a cable tie with the soldering iron over the back. worked a treat also!

although i wouldent inhale the fumes as you may find yourslef dreaming of pink stars

If it's something you want to strengthen the back, you could use some epoxy putty. It's awesome stuff.

Where can i get the epoxy putty from? Would a local, small, motor spares place do it or will I need to travel to Halfords etc? Also, What filler can I use to put over some deep scratches.
Tahnks.
