Adjusting Clutch Cable
Hello Peeps
I have just had a new clutch cable installed and its driving me nuts. i loosened the adjuster at the bar end and this mad it impossible to get into neutral so i tried various settings which made it hard going up through the gears. so i thought i would try the bottom adjuster and lossened that of and now it better but i have to thrash the nuts of it in order to get in to second around 5000 rpm and the same for second and third slightly less. I also have to hold the front brake in foirst as the bike will start edging away at the lights. The gears are also really tough to go down the box just rolling along i have to kick a few times in each. I just know lots of you have had similar probs and i would really appreciate a picture of roughly the best setting of both the bottom adjuster closest to the gear changer and the one one bars if possible. This would be a big help as everyone looks and points as i sound like a learner or someone that is thrashing. :smt092 |
Re: Adjusting Clutch Cable
Hello,
This has been covered a few times before. There are 3 points of adjustment: 1) Fine cable slack adjuster on lever 2) Main cable slack adjuster at bottom of cable 3) Clutch worm drive / Lifter. Searching provides this thread with a much quoted post from "Sid Squid" Jambo Edit: Entirely failed to provide the link! http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.p...justing+Clutch |
