Akrapovic slip on vs. Laser exhaust system

Hey everyone, have been looking around for a new exhaust to replace the stock one on my 600rr-6. I've narrowed it down to the akrapovic or laser system. They're both around £420, but the cost for fitting the laser will obviously be more.

I was at a garage asking about prices etc, and they mentioned the laser exhaust system is a very poor fit. Apparently the downpipes weren't finished well, and it was extremely difficult to get the cans level? Don't know if they're just talking crap or what.

I prefer the look of the laser, but it seems akrapovic are one of the best makes around; but 400 quid for a slip on seems a bit over the top to me. So if someone could give me some advice or have experience with either of these would be much appreciated

Also does anyone know how easy it is to take off/put back on the baffles on either of the makes? Since most track days are limited to 105db.

(I posted this on the cbr forum, but they're useless! There must be a couple of cbr fellas here)

I can remember buying one of those laser slip-ons for a cbr600rr for the grand price of £16 about 18months ago.

I think they're talking guff about the fitment personally but google it anyway. I've seen them close up before and they don't look squinty. And they sound ace!

!!?? Where on earth did you find that?? I was under the impression you had to buy the full system because of going from 4 to 2 as opposed to 4 to 1

I was thinking the same, some mechanics talk rubbish. Also when I asked them how long it would take to fit a full system...4 hours at 40quid/hour, i think not! Good ol' CG Chells

Can't find anything negative about them on the net

The beauty of eBay and someone advertising it badly!

Both fit just a good as the other, main stream mechanics talk a load of boll*cks as they are in it for the money. If you have some tools I recommend you do it yourself, its dead easy and you will get the satisfaction that you do it yourself.

It is a slip-on, fitted two in the past. You do have the option of making it a full system, Laser make the downpipes too for the CBR600RR.

I don't tend to mess with my bikes unless my mechnically minded mates are about. Apparently the seat unit is biatch to get off on these bikes. Was quoted 70quid from another place, which I thought wasn't too bad.

The seat unit is a piece of pi$$ to get off! 4 Bolts from memory. If I can do it, anyone can ;)

I fitted my own Akrapovich, and it really couldn't have been easier.

EDIT: Hmmm, maybe not, just noticed yours is an 06, mines an 07, so there may be differences. Still, can't be that hard :)
