It all went splendidly well and I'm chuffed as chips. Just a few things I need the ok with if you don't mind. When I pressed the free link on one end was a fraction of a mm out further than the other end but the o ring was nicely squashed. Is that ok? Also I can't actually feel that the pin has flared but you can see it has domed inside and I gave it some welly. That seem ok?

Here's the pics:

Check out the state of the old one:

Looks ok to me Darren. As long as the rivets have domed over it should be fine. Is it on the Trumpet or the SV?

Rather than delete the thread I've just deleted the derails and edited my derail!

Can't tell from those pictures, but assuming you did as we discussed I'm sure it's fine.

I have only seen one chain as bad as the one you've taken off (I haven't lived, see) - what the hell did you do to it - or rather didn't do to it...

I cleaned the chain (on the SV) in preperation to sell it and didn't lube it. Weeks and months passed and now I have the orange beauty in the pic. The condition of the pins is actually very good. None of them sticking at all.

Looked at the Daytona chain tonight and can confirm there's more rivetting to do. Will bring the SV down Soho when it's sorted to sell. Might be a classic by then! He he.
:)
