Hi All,
I have a scottoiler and need to fill it up. Could someone please let me know what to use and where to get it. Thanks in advance, Ian |

On a more serious note, any motorbike shop with an accessories dept will have some - where in London are you? The other option (which is cheaper) is to use some used engine oil. |
Re: Scottoiler
Thanks! I found the official website and will order it today.

Re: Scottoiler
This might help, about halfway down the page sv fitting guide.
Whoops.... thought it was about fitting, my bad. Cheers Mark., |
Re: Scottoiler
IMO, use old motor oil if you do high mileage, you will still get a huge extension in chain life. IIRC Sid Squid got over 80,000 miles out of a chain run on old motor oil. I had the best part of 40,000 out of mine (again motor oil) and it still had a fair wedge of life in and that had been aged prematurely by not oiling it at for the first 3000 miles or so and then only chain wax for the next couple of thousand.

Re: Scottoiler
Thanks Ceri JC!
That is really useful. |
Re: Scottoiler
FYI, on a standard scottoiler, if you use the bike daily, set on minimum with used engine oil, it'll last about 1,000 miles/weekly before needing to be refilled.
Cheers Mark. |
