"I can has internet" - warning, smugness within

Just called Virgin media to tell them I'll be canceling and moving to BT (OMG LOL etc) if they dont get smart and cut my costs pretty sharpish (its that time of year in the ooger house, no utility provider escapes)

I went from 10mb broadband providings to 20mb, in 20 minutes, no questions asked, no extra monies due. Online speed tests prove it.

I'm enjoying a current download speed of 1.9Mb/s thanks to my errr....software client.

Get on the dog and bone you lot (oh, and that got upgradings too 24/7 freebies to UK landlines, (<60 mins) )

(I'll kick myself when I next need to call the devil they call "customer care", cos I know thats where they fall down, before you all start)

I sort of did the same thing with VM - when Sky One etc were pulled from their TV service, I phoned up to cancel. I was already on the top package so they cut my bill by £20 per month for life. I've had no problems with their customer services so far.

I was paying 24.99 a month for 2mb/s broadband from VM, rang em a couple of times to see if they could offer me a better package, on the second call the attitude was if you dont like it then leave, so I did and am now paying a fiver a month with sky :D

I have also done a bit of negotiating with VM recently and got a free upgrade (proof above!) to 10mb, which is nice :D

Seems as though everyone is 'negotiating' with VM! We were having trouble with the 2mb broadband and after a phone call and a new free modem we have a 10mb broadband for £4.50 less than we were paying for the 2mb!

Dirty rotten....

I have always had cable, from back in the days of Diamond, and I used to sell NTL. I was one of the first customers to have broadband as such, and all my friends would mysteriously appear over the weekend to 'borrow' some bandwidth to check their emails....

Then we moved to a village with no cable.

So now, using hemp telephone lines I am lucky if I get 2mb, if the wind is blowing in the right direction.:smt012

Then the wife fires up facebook and the whole fracking show grinds to a halt....

I heard a rumour that VM were going to start laying cables again, but it never came to anything.
