I jumped my bike
So I went for a little blast after work and on the way back, covered the back brake just in case and went over a little bridge/hump at about 40ish, actually got some air (maybe a few inches) which was probably the coolest thing I have every done. Not sure what sort of discussion there is, but I'm sure a lot of you have had a moment that you just thought, 'Wow, that was fantastic.'
Good times. |
Re: I jumped my bike
I did that a few years ago coming out of Sittingbourne on my 650 - saw/heard the rev counter shoot up to the redline as the back came off the ground, landed it it square, and then rode off partly giggling and partly thinking what a ****
Last time I did it properly was on the North/South mark one. We had all been warned that there has a hump that if we hit it over 60 we would get air - most of us hit it at a lot more than that :-) |
Re: I jumped my bike
I love it when that happens!

Re: I jumped my bike
come try the IOW humpback bridges
must've got some good air on thursday judging by the look on the face of the van driver coming the other way...:D |
Re: I jumped my bike
There's 2 places right near where I live that I'm able to get 'air' from. The first place you only really need to be doing anything over 30 for both wheels to come up. The 2nd is a big long straight with a slight hump that when you go quick enough you can hear the revs rise as the rear leaves the ground.
Doing the dukes pass on the Glencoe Massacre has got to have been the best. The first time we done it I made a mental note, so when we come back I was prepaid. I think there was 4 humps all on the stright bit of road, so I hit the first one and got a little bit of air. The next few were me giving it a little more each time and getting a little higher. It would've made for a great photo. It is a very surreal feeling knowing that both wheels are off the ground and the only thing keeping you from weeks in hospital is an invisible centrifugal force. :D |

mathams lane near me is also a good one, and in christchurch, just exiting a roundabout there is a bit of a dodgy bump which give you a bit of air, not reckomended though when coming off of a roundabout. large brown stain in trousers first time i hit that one. |

Re: I jumped my bike
Did a little jumping today... Well a few times :(
Try the Helmsley TT, its mad! ;) I dont much like it though, kinda dont like the landing and the back wobbling, some of the jumps are on slight bends you see. Have fun out there and take care. |
