Good Learner Bikes???

I know someone who is thinking of taking thier bike test. I was amazed to hear that they have thier eye on a GSF 1200, and having never riden a bike before i think is a bit of a rash decision.

So i gather the SV is supposedly a good starter bike and also 'gentle' to learner riders. But what other makes and models of 'bigger than 125' bikes are generally good for people with little experience of riding???

Suzuki gs 500
Suzuki dl 650 v-strom(sv engine)
Kawasaki er6 n or f model
Yamaha fazer 600 or fz6 (fz6 being the newer model)
Honda Hornet 600
Suzuki Bandit 600

just a few off the top of my head....HTH

GS500s are pretty dire, don't bother. Spend a couple of hundred more and buy an SV
