so ... Injected or not injected
That is the question ?
Thinking of returning to the fray - want a naked one this time - decision is between curvy ( nicer looking frame - cheaper ) or the later "pointy" What's the best one to go for - is the injected later version better ? which is the most reliable ? Some thoughts people please ? Cheers Nana |
Re: so ... Injected or not injected
Not really any performance or running cost differences, the only 'real' differences is the initial cost and which ever style takes your fancy (very much eye of the beholder) I own a curvy, but prefer the looks of a fully faired pointy myself 8) ... I am no way about to go out and buy one mind!! ;)

Re: so ... Injected or not injected
Buy the best bike you can for your budget and dont get hung up on the differences between carbs vs fuel injection as theres no difference in real terms when you ride it.

Re: so ... Injected or not injected
The fuel injected bikes don't suffer from carb icing etc. But then the carb'd bikes have nice simple mechanics to them.
Swings & roundabouts. |
Re: so ... Injected or not injected
I'm not sure that curvey's are cheaper. Lots of people seem to prefer them and I bought my 55 pointy for less money than dealers were asking for much older curveys.
If possible try both to see if one or other riding position suits you. Otherwise I'd echo the recommendation to buy the best bike you find for the money (within your budget). |

Buy a tatty curvey or a tidy pointy and the pointy costs less. Madness... |
Re: so ... Injected or not injected
Pointy might be easier to live with in winter with regards to the initial cold starting (my curvy is grumpy in winter for the first 10 - 15 mins, low idle speed / cuts out. Then it sorts itself out and gets on with the job in hand) but really, theres nothing between them (as far as I can tell). I prefer the tank ergonomics on the pointy, feels far more supportive than the curvy
