IT help please...How do I transfer from Access to......
Ok here's the scenario for all you IT professionals out there:
I have created a database in MS Access at work and need to be able to create a pre-filled MS Word doc from the data in the database. I have used a fair bit of VB code behind the custom forms and whilst I don't do this for a living I can usually create enough code to get around most issues and know some basic SQL. What my database basically does is let the user log a 'query' and then provide a reference number. At this point I want the user to be able to click the OK button and automatically open a word doc with most fields pre-filled so that they only need to add an address to the letter and then print - which will not be stored in the db as it could be one of thousands of different addresses. Had a bit of a play with the mail merge in Word but I think I am probably making it more difficult than it really is and just don't know how to do it. Any suggestions on how to go about this would be appreciated. Thanks |
