bike won't start

hey

was about to leave for my IAM first observed ride and bike wouldn't start. the alarm deactivated, turned on ignition and pressed the starter button - a brief starting noise and a doink (that is the technical term) and nothing. kept trying to start it and nothing except a clicking from under the seat happened. it hasn't been starting as smoothly as it used to for the past week but now there is nothing. battery is ok but its like something is stuck - its only done 2200 miles. any clue? am i missing something really obvious? or has something become loose?

any help greatly appreciated. otherwise its time to make a call to my breakdown peeps and use the home start option.

+1

Clicking when trying to start often indicates a flat battery. That would be the first thing to check.

+ 1 thats where I'd start, you're bike is showing classic symtoms of a flat battery, or a battery with not enough juice in it to turn the bike over.

If you search for a post by "Sid Squid" it'll tell you how to check the battery with a multimeter and determine if the reg / rec has gone which may be the cause of the flattened battery in the first place.
