Oxford heated grips

Hello,

I have only been out on my SV twice as i just passed my test - and i love it!

Anyway the bike came with Oxford heated grips which are disconnected as the previous owner said as he wasn't using it the battery was being drained.

So I'm wondering is it ok to plug them in if i only use the bike 2-3 days a week or will i flatten the battery?

Cheers

Firstly they should be wired in so that the circuit is only live when the ignition is on.
Secondly they shouldn't draw any current when they're not switched on.

So if I were you I'd plug 'em in and check that the switch works OK. If they can be turned on when the ignition is off then you run the risk of accidently flattening the battery if you forget to turn them off

Are these any good? I'm considering them for winter, are they easy to install (pointy S K3)?

I had a set on my last bike. Highly recommend them for the winter and if wired correctly they should turn off with the ignition.

Buy Gerbing heated gloves.

They only draw power when plugged in which means you can wire the harness directly to the battery.

They will warm your hands no matter where they are. Which means your fingers are being warmed 100% of the time not just when they are wrapped around the handlebars.

They warm the outside of your fingers from top to tip, the very bits that are exposed to the cold. Unlike the heated grips which only warm the inside and your palms.

They come with a lifetime guarantee for the electrics.

They are the best waterproof gloves I have ever owned.
