So I rode my bike for the first time today since my accident.
 

.......... and it was awful.

I did this over the last few days http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=117866 and decided to bite the bullet and get over my fear of riding again, so at 10.30 I rang the locak garage and booked Zuky in for her 1st MOT, booked in for 2.30pm.

I went to my Mums house which is no more than 500yds away, 2 corners and a straight road. I got on and had a mind block, couldn't even remember the gears :(. Got round the 1st corner, went up the road and had to turn right into my street, felt very wobbly and was shaking so much. I got to my house and got off, could have cried I hated it that much.

I never got to ride it to the MOT station, was ridden for me by a mate who was meant to be following me. I felt so disappointed I didn't feel comfortable riding her to the MOT, major sense of failure :(

But she passed yeyyyyy. Back in my Mums garage, just need to tax her and try again, but that will be when I am in a positive mood.

I wouldn't worry about it, just get back on it and get as much practice as you can. Even if you have to find a quiet industrial estate.:D

practice hun thats all you need, take your time and do it at your own pace, stay safe shell.

Practise and then practise some more. That's the only way to overcome your fears and unsteadiness.

I hope ya right, be awful to have kept hold of Zuky for a year and build her a house to find I can't get my leg over again ! LOL ;)

Do you know what, you did it though. You could have backed out, but you didn't.

I don't know what happened, but take it slowly and you'll be fine. I think it's really brave of you.
