Today I borrowed one of these

And its brilliant.

Its an 850cc V twin automatic.... with tiptronic gear control if you want to ride it "manually" its basically a big bike scooter thing, but it looks brilliant, goes fantastic, handling is a little skitish as Im a big lad it it feels like it has a short wheel basen so smoothness is the name of the game.

Im sold on the idea of an auto bike, but it might get a bit bland over time, but though town with no slipping of the clutch, seamless overtakes as you just grab a handfull and dissapear into the distance....it just works...

Catherine has an auto car licence as she disslikes gears, also the reason she has yet to do her bike test, so with this available, we will now look into the possibility of an asuto motorcycle test... brill.

Any way... bit of an alternative from the norm I guess, I had a Z750 last week and whilst it was nice this is so much better....

anyone else had a go?

How can a scooter be better than a real bike :P :)

Only time I saw one of these on the road it WAS on the road, the guy riding it had messed up doing a left turn heading back into the Ace Cafe on the Aprillia try-out day, and dropped it, seriously messing his leg up, as in his toes didnt point in the same direction as his knee on one leg any more.

Also its an Aprillia, which was one of the reasons I didnt get a Shiver when I was shopping in Feb, didn't quite rate the spares availability yet.

I read a review of this auto-Aprilia somewhere and they really rated it. Shame it looks so boring though. :(

right with you now...

if it helps the zed is much better looking, but I didnt get on with the engine as fantastic as it was, it was lacking compared with the tuono... (but thats a really unfair comparisson)

not yet had a problem with spares ... but not needed anything other than service items.
