near miss 2day.

after a nice wee blast to edinburgh to hand over toby's sv with new front end, i decided to go to cupar mc and pick up some spares i orderd.

so there i was making my way along the cupar road when i come accross a line (about 4 cars) of trafic behind a tractor doin 20mph, i can see up the road and there is nowt ahaid none of the cars have there indicator on, so looky in mirror (nowt) indicator on looky over sholder (nowt) pulls out winds on the power, i'm now doin about 70ish when all of a sudden this red micra desides its gonna overtake even though the driver cant see a bleedin thing, no indecation nowt, just pulls out, my brain goes into overdrive my foot and hand reach for the brakes my brain thinks blooody hellll these brakes are good then it thinks hmmm no traction and why are we going sidyways (think of a speedway rider) so loosens hand on front brake, easys off on back brake, bike goes into a complete wobble, then luckely sits up nice and straight, micra gets past tractor, i wind on power and survive...

find out when i was passing the micra that it was little miss daisy about 70ish years old and totaly oblivious as to what she had done.

the others in the line must have thaught 'he's off'.

on the way back i noticed the black marks on the road and i must say verry impresive, at leist 30-40ft of tram lines.

and a side note, was the girl on a silver sv at the side of the road up from the frukikie roundabout at the old garage a forum member?

+1

If I remember this experience has been discussed on here before as its a common hazard. You can bet your pants they will overtake and not even know they put you in the hedge. Live to ride another day.

ok she looked 25ish cute blonde (i think), bike looked fine, i think she was just taking a break. i had to get to cupar coz it was closing and thaught if she has broken down i'll get her on the way back.

and besides, i'm married with kids. so phone number not important. but i would happly help anyone in troubble, car or bike, bloke or female.
