Service -2 years or 4000 miles
 

Hi, i'd appreciate some advice re service intervals. I have an SV650 K6 which will be 2 years old in October but has only done 2000 miles. Should i still get the bike serviced or wait 'till i've reached 4000 miles.

Yeah, i know i should get out on it more ( wife, work, kids etc ! )

depends on how long its been sitting from the last time you rode it?

if its kept in a garage or outdoors?

but for the price of oli & filter plus a can of spray grease, i would give it a minor service.

in fact i notice your in fife, not kirkcaldy area by any chance? if so i can take a look at it for you.

Supposed to be every 4000 miles or 12 months whatever comes first.So yes its well overdue a service.As its out of warranty common sense suggests you do it yourself,and concentrate on general checkover and oil/filter change.Oil goes off with time as well as use,so that should be done ASAP.You can buy the oil and filter for about £25 or pay a garage to do it and pay about four times that-----???
