MRI scans

Howdy all.

I've my appointment booked for my MRI scan on my shoulder this Wednesday.

I know it involves dye injected into the muscle and wotnot., but I was wondering is it a bit of a bugger?

Better to take the bus to the hospital rather than bike? I did hear a mention of local anaesthetic!

Ta very much!

Graham.

I`ve had 2 MRI`s done on my hip..... i had dye injected into my hip on the second one and they used a local anaesthetic. I got a lift and didn`t drive which I was glad about as it felt quite uncomfortable. I also had a lot of numbness in that area and it felt as if my leg was gonna give way so i`d say use the bus cos you can`t guarantee how you`re gonna feel afterwards. Good luck

Oof. Sorry to hear you felt a bit rubbish afterwards.

I've booked the day off work just to make sure.

I'm having it in Broad Green. Shame as I live a short walk from the Royal! I think Broad Green is the place for that kind of thing though.

I got the bus.
Had the same done on my arm and hand, and even if you dont get the local anaesthetic it threw me abit, didnt feel happy after.

Good luck.

I was fine, had a small burn on the other hand as i forgot to take off my reading band and the metal bit burnt me .... GHAY!
I was physicaly fine but they say you can feel abit under the weather for upto 48 hours.
Just get some good sleep and food, drink lots of water and you shold have no problems.

Cheers for the advice.

Oh well. At least I can sit with a dead arm instead of being in work!

P.S Is there a lot of heat involved? Enough to burn your hand???

Graham.

I heard they avoid using the word 'Nuclear' as to not make people sh*t themselves??

NEEEEK !
No no, no heat involved unless you have metal in or on you ( big magnets pullig on the metal would cause it to heat up), which is why u take your stuff off.

The worst bit is going into the tube....SCARY AS HELL, and the 1st noise is abit arhh, but i fell asleep in mine as it take around 15-20 mins.
Tomorrow u'll wonder why you ever worried.

Brock.
