Quick question about BS/ E-marks on exhausts

Hello .org,
Sorry to waste all the bandwidth personally, but here's another thread.
Now I'm considering resleeving my perfectly road legal current exhaust and was considering riveting one of these on
260290010449
270278164070
360080961447
(sorry they're ebay item numbers - not sure how to link ebay stuff on this forum)

My question is, would any of those arouse senior plods suspicion? Of course he needn't be aroused in such away as it's a completely legit, lovely exhaust!
Purely innocent question I'm just not fond of arousing coppers needlessly....:shock:

Fitting one of these badges to a non-road legal exhaust is illegal and will get you in more trouble than just having no stamp. What exhaust do you have, looks like a LeoVince in the avatar?

Aye don't bother. You'd have more of a chance of wriggling out of 'not for road use' than a pretend tag pretending its legal;-)

Yeah it's a leo vinci. It doesn't say 'not for road use' it just may not have the official marks....

PS. DD while you're here, you scared me on another thread:- is my engine scrap if I have a knock that gets better when the clutch is pulled in?

As long as it doesn't say "not for road use" or "race only" or similar it's OK. No mark is a good mark.
Rules on markings have changed frequently. MOT just uses the judgement of the tester (highly technical, eh?)

Of course you do need to declare mods to your insurance co., otherwise you end up un-insured which is probably worse than anything else.

And most (all) insurers won't cover you unless the can carries the mark.

Actually no mark is the equivalent to "Not For Road Use" and "Race Use Only", it is your responsibility to prove it is legal not the old bills to prove it is not legal. The M4 pipe I have on the 800 is not stamped either, this makes it illegal (which it is any way).

Correct, unless you tell that it is a non road legal exhaust like I did.

Sorry, no need to worry mate. Its usually a good sign, the SV rattles a lot due to many reasons. Nothing to worry about, unless it starts to get a lot worse!

Brilliant thanks for all that. I'll leave the exhaust as it is and just hope I don't get pulled.

the blue flame tri oval can I had had no E mark on it and with the baffles in is sold as a road legal can. Bike passed several MOT's like that and also I never had any greif getting the bike insured and I declared it to the insurance company. I even told them what make of can it was...
