Going to have to give up riding

....for a while at least.

I have had wrist problems for the past year and a half which has seriously affected the amount I ride. Since August, when we did a four hundred mile weekend away, it has been a lot worse on the bike. I rode to work yesterday - just ten miles each way - and I was in agony by the time I got home. And my riding goes to pot, because it hurts so much to change gear. So that is it, I can't keep on doing this. The bike is going away for the winter.

I am having an operation in November (ulna shortening osteotomy), fingers crossed that will sort it out so next year I can actually get out and ride the SV a bit more!

Feel gutted though. Going to miss riding, especially if this good bit of weather lasts. :smt089

Sorry to hear that, can't you go down the route of getting a hi riser kit for the bike?

best of luck with the op....perhaps a different style of bike so you could still have the enjoyment of riding?.....

Sorry to hear this.

Cuffy's suggestion for bar risers is a good one, it'll take the weight off your wrists and you can always put it back to standard when you are fully healed.

Take it easy for a while, it will be worth it when you get back on the bike.

Go naked! :) or......

As suggested a flatbar conversion/ risers. Another thing to consider if you have put quite a few miles on the bike is buying a new clutch cable. You get that amazing light clutch feel again.

Also an adjustable clutch lever so you would not have as much reach to the lever.

:)

Sorry to hear about this, keep up with the physio after the operation.

As mentioned already, have you tried a test ride on a Naked?

Thanks for the good wishes.

I don't really want to change bike over something which will hopefully be temporary.

Maybe if it isn't improved after I have recovered from the op I will have to resort to that though.
