Parking fine in Central London

GGGGGGRRRRRR......
Well i got stung in the city (london) today, My bike (pointy sv) was cover and i parked in the normal motorcycle bay and I got a parking ticket....
What the Fxck!!!!!

When did the new parking laws kick in....
Ok and to add to the misery the parking warden scratched the left hand side of the rear faring. I think it must of happened when he pull the cover up. Its got hooks on it to stop people doing exactly what he did...

Its really unfair,,, I got to got to the stress now of trying to prove that he cause the damage etc..
Anyone know the law on bike covers and tickets..

theres an article in two magazine this month about the laws changing so traffic wardens have the right to remove covers from your vehicle in order to issue a ticket :(

send a bill for the damage minus the cost of the fine, that will annoy them

historically bikes have been free, the reason being that you can't stick a ticket on a bike without the risk of someone swiping it or it getting wet. How does this work in London then ?

Apparently, it was introduced so that they could enforce bike only parking in designated bays- apparently, if there's no charge for the bay, Westminster could not legally impose penalties on cars etc parking in bike bays.

Which is a fairly b*ll*cks excuse for drumming up more cash from the roads. Also, I'm not sure how this works- if it is local legislation or not. It really riles me when cars park in bike bays, and every other bike/scooter that could potentially block in the offending car with me has bottled it (though scoots can always be picked up and moved, I suppose)!

New parking rules? I've googled and looked on the TfL site but failed to find anything about this. Has anyone a link to more info? I'm only an infrequent visitor but I do try to use the bike if I am visiting.
