gsxr 1000 k4 shock settings

I have just bought a gsxr 1000 k4 rear shock for my 650 K5.
I know all the answers to fitting it but has anyone got one fitted to their bike, as i have got no idea where to start with the settings.
I know every one is different but i am just looking for a starting point.
Also do i need to change the dog bones for longer ones,i am 6'1 so height is not a problem.

Thanks in advance,

Tony

When i put mine in i just left it as is and it worked fairly good/better but no where near as good as a proper ohlins sv unit but for about £40 quid u couldnt complain lol as its a step the rite way or at least it was on my bike.

Set the sag - rider and static, there are many guides on the tinternet, but this is good resource:

You could use the baseline settings on here, but obviously they will be for a GSXR-1000, not an SV. I'd use them as a baseline and then work from there. End of the day, no-one can tell you what numbers to dial in yourself as everyone is different. Important thing is to make one change at a time and record everything so you can go back.

I never fitted longer dog bones , I just put racing rear set plates on and flipped them upside down to lower the pegs . I didn`t want dog bones as it would change the geometry . If you do want them though , there`s a set for sale on the Org :D
