Simply Indicating is not enough.

I get this all the time and quite often expect it, from the road positioning of a driver.

However this morning a massive FMConway tipper decided to do that on the top of blackheath. He was in the nearside lane approaching the traffic lights and I was in the next lane, I could tell he was going to do something so cautiously approached.

When as suspected his indicator came on at exactly the same time as he began to move into my lane, I slammed my anchors on and he did the same, just as he was half-way into my lane and I was about halfway down his lorry.

Then he unwound his window and waved me through, cheeky b***ard!

As I went past him I did my usual shaking my head in disapproval, to which I heard a torrent of abuse coming towards me. I opened my visor and really let rip, can't print here, in fact some of the words I cannot even spell.

So what happened to mirror - signal - manoevre?

This happens to me all the time.

.

If that Police on the M6 thing on BBC last week was anything to go by there's a lot of people out there without proper (valid in UK) licences dragging the standards down.

aye, coming back on the a64 on friday I was behind two girls who were in a saxo in the fast/far lane. They indicated left and started to pull into the slow lane where the next car was about a quarter of a mile ahead. I accelerated and started to pass, and just as I got level, she changed back into the fast lane without looking/indicating/thinking. Nearly had me off. I could see she was chatting to her mate so never mind eh.

Don't think that's the problem - many people with valid UK licenses are shocking. I'm all for mandatory 5/10 year retesting for licenses.

Not much use retesting.Any fool can drive properly for half an hour every few years or even every few months. It attitude that causes bad driving not inability.A competant driver who just doesnt give a **** about antone else will always behave badly on the road.

yep, I usually give these people a 'stupid b'tard. wonker' signal in the style of Lee Evans. Hand waves all over the place above my helmet, and my little voice comes growling out of it.
really annoys the hell out of me, I try my best to be courteous and concious of all vehicles, shame they can't be like that towards me

And what about not giving way when there's an obstruction such as a parked car? Increasingly, drivers treat it not as an obstruction, just as a narrow road over which they have equal priority. It happens everywhere cos people are so impatient.
