hotgrips and optimate?
just fitted hot grips (oxford) and i noticed that the connector is the same as my optimate............
so is it ok to plug the optimate into the connecter for my hotgrips, the only differance i think is the grips have an inline fuse? |

Re: hotgrips and optimate?
Is optimate wired directly to battery?
Are the + and - same way round? If so, yes. |
Re: hotgrips and optimate?
I'd guess yes but wait for someone with brains to plod along.
By the way, if they do turn out to be exactly the same I ouldn't buy one of them off you coul I? I've lost mine (or rather the ebayer I purchased it from did) so I have to use the croc clips so it doesn't get used too often. Edit: ^^^ 'ta da' |
Re: hotgrips and optimate?
I MIGHT have one kicking about left over from t'other SV, but I probably sold it with the bike. I'll have a look.

Re: hotgrips and optimate?
New style grips are supposed to cut out when engine's off. In reality they cut out when your hands are cold.

Re: hotgrips and optimate?
what about the inline fuse?
is it ok to leave in, when i connect it to the optimate? as there is not a fuse on the one suplyed with it |
