Fitting belly pans
Hello everyone,
I am thinking of buying an SV650 and I was wondering just how difficult it is to fit panels yourself. I am looking on ebay at bikes around 3 years old and there seems to be a relatively large price gap. I just would like some advice on which way to jump. Does anyone know if adding the extra panels affects insurance (I assume it does)? Many thanks |
Re: Fitting belly pans
Do you definitely mean belly pan: http://www.suzuki-gb.co.uk/uploads/S...lly-Pan.22.jpg
and not lower fairings: http://www.banditmania.co.uk/Bodywor...%20FAIRING.jpg Either way, the panels are very easy to fit, but... buying them seperately from the bike can be very expensive if you get new ones, and might take a while to get the right colour if you go second hand. I don't think it affects the insurance at all, or at least I was never asked if my sv was half or fully faired when I was quoted. |
Re: Fitting belly pans
Belly Pans are evry easy to fit, and they do not add any cost to your insurance premium.

Re: Fitting belly pans
Straight forward to fit either a belly pan or lower fairings, just mount the brackets and attach the panel.
It shouldn't add any cost to the insurance, at least I have never heard/known of it happening before. |
