Recommend me a footpump & gauge.

Foot pump and tyre pressure gauge, that won't cost the earth.

Tks

Halfords cheap £10 pump and one of the little metal pens that they sell for about £6 I think. Works a treat!!! :)

I have a halfords foot pump which is very very good.

Go to a tesco's petrol station though and buy one of their digital pressure gauge....voted best by several magazines and cost about £5

Ive got the Halfords one too works OK and the pressure guage reads pretty much the same as my separate dial pressure gauge.

I went for the single barrel one as and earlier 2 barrel one I had twisted the frame as I eagerly pumped away.

Got a Halfords foot pump (single) too, it's plenty if you just need to adjust tyre pressures, not great if you want to pump up from flat I'm sure (but still doable relatively easily, it's a pump after all).

My tyre pressure gauge is an Oxford one I think, got it from Infinity or HG for £10 ish, ooh and free chrome valve caps lol (not on the bike, thankfully ;)). Seems decent enough, I'd say get a digital one not a mechanical pop-out one, those are disaster-prone - you can accidentally knock it out further when looking at it, or it can stick and not go out far enough...all sorts lol.

Ok, so it seems a trip to halfords or tescos will be on the cards for the weekend.

Now how about a paddock stand and bobbins? Save the chain lube line going all the way up my drive, as it currently does.

Busters had an offer where they were doing front and rear paddock stands for around £40 + delivery (a fiver I think).

EDIT: Looks like the current offer is this one http://www.busters-accessories.co.uk...paddock+stands

I've got the Halfords mini digital tyre gauge, bought the bigger one to begin with but it was a faff getting it in-between the spokes. The mini one is much better and I keep it in my jacket pocket and use it every week. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/s...tegoryId_31465

I use a track pump from Argos/Evans Cycles to top up air....cheaper in the long run than 50p a week at a garage.

Bobbins, I think I paid £25 from Infinity (for R&G) so I expect you can get them for £15-20 on Ebay...they are generic other than the thread size so you can browse a wide selection if you check what size you need.

Paddock stands - offer above sounds decent - only time I bought paddock stands new was at the NEC 2006, cost about £70-75 for a pair of Oxford ones, but they were some chunkier-than-normal (heavy duty? not that I needed it) ones - they had pairs of the normal ones for £40-50.

What next :p you mentioned R&Gs - I'd guess they'll be about £40-50 to buy from R&G, if you don't need to drill fairings just fit them yourself! Tail tidy...well, let's not get ahead of ourselves yet ;)

Again, Busters have bobbins from £2 in their clearance section, they look like plain/unfinished metal, I guess it depends what you're after.

On the subject of pumps, do you think a hand operated bicycle pump would be strong enough? Or should I say, would I be strong enough?

Just thought it would be handy for touring in case of emergencies
