Metzeler Mez 3 Any good?
 

got a good price for a Metzeler Mez3 for the front of my curvy, are they any good? (currently got a mez4 on the front, & its fine for my needs)

Have a read of this thread first.

General view, mine included, is the Mez4 is just nasty especially when half worn. Much much better tyres available now, Avon Storms probably the best bang for buck at present.

I ran Z3's and liked them, but as embee said, tyres have improved since they came on the scene, I'v got storms on and I love them so far.

Well I got a Mez3 fitted to the the bike for £60.00. A bargain I thought, as they were talking 115 for a mez4 fitted.

Mez 3s are ancient, they used to be considered good sticky tyres but that was before my time... But that's not to say they're bat. Only thing I'd wonder about is how old your pair is- tyres have a set lifespan and those have been out of production for a long time I think.

I have an z4, never tried the z3 but if the z4 is beter than the 3 then god love ya cuz mines sh111t

Well I will when this M3 wears out along with the M4 on the back. The way Im going its gonna be a couple of years before I wear em out!!

Z3 was the sportier tyre, so should be better than the Z4. it was the predecessor of the Sportec M1 I believe.

yehh well eitherway i cant wait to change my z4 because it came on my sv when i bought it 5 months ago and iv ruined it completely and its c##p anyway, put me off metzeler completely
