Studded tyres, the same were used in the Desmosedici PR stunt.

I have a lot of confidence in my bikes and Avon Storms, I don't think I'll be trying that out at the moment though....

Darn I knew I should have gone for the storms at £170 over dunlop sportmax's at £150 (a pair!). Stupid love of money.
I've ridden them so far and they feel okay, they are a really sticky tyre (will wear fast) but feel good on dry and I haven't tested them too much on corners in the wet but I'm not hopeful.

I wouldn't bank on it.

They win all the reviews, and are meant to be the best overall tyre in terms of dry grip, wet grip, stability and wear (basically the best all rounder).

Check this page out, I know its on Dunlops site, so biased but its all been said by 'independants'.

PS. I have just bought some after riding a mates bike with them, and am very pleased so far, but then my only comparision is squared off OEs!

Brilliant, that's reassuring. They haven't failed me yet. Had a windy blast out in the wet today :)

I've got the Roadsmarts and they do grip very well in the dry AND the wet. Very confidence inspiring. However, I'm finding they are wearing a fair bit quicker than the Z6's I had before. I'm expecting 6000 miles from the rear compared to 9000 miles from the Z6. Still I'm happy for the confidence they give. If I did more miles per year (I only manage about 6000) then I would probably give the Storms a pop.
