smell of petrol
 

Ok folks im sure this is an easy one.

When I fill up for a short while afterwards (parking up and at low speeds) the bike stinks of petrol. Like its overfueling or something.

When its been run a bit it goes.

Any ideas why?

Are you overfilling it or pouring some fuel down the drain tube?

well its not going down the drain tube when i fill it. However it is when i fill it to the brim when im sat on the bike. if its on the side stand i dont have a problem normally. So im guessing i might be over filling it but i was thinking the tank might be sealed?

Have a look at the all the fuel pipes, you might have one loose.

Drain tube inside tank could be rusted through and leaking (right at the top?), wouldn't be the first.......

meh, my bike stunk last night after a good blast down the motorway. Fine today..I'm sure you've nothing to worry about
