Damaged 4KAM cam - can they be repaired ?

Bought myslef a 4KAM a while ago and just received my brand spanking new mini recorder yesterday, hooked it all up ands the picture, although very sharp is alternating between lurid green and black and white, on closer inspection it looks like the wires at the base of the unit might be damaged, is this something that can be repaired, you know, new cabling, and can someone like Maplins or similar repair it ?
Thanks

Maplins don`t do repairs , take it to a TV repair place or such like and they will solder it for a nominal fee . Sounds like you have Red and Blue damaged with an intermitant fault on the Green , Hence the Lurid Green then Black and White .

True, though the one in Llandudno used to when I was on-shift. :D

Stewie, is it one of these (only with 3 or 4 wires, single line of connections)?

I had a similar issue with my DogCam (not 4KAM), and fixed it myself. They're probably the same camera sold by different people.

Think it cost me something in the region of £5 tops.

This is getting wierd now, tried a fresh battery in it, a 9 volt duracell, cos that what the connector pieces suggested I use, result, a fantastic sharp picture for about 3 secs then the battery started to heat up rapidly, and I mean Rapidly, so I tried another 9 volt duracell and it exactly the same, dunno what,s occurring now, I have been contacted by 4kam about it so will send some info to them I think, but, any ideas guys ?

For the battery to get hot very quickly, you'd pretty much be having to push current through it backwards. Though if the battery is the only source of power, I can't imagine how that'd happen with a camera!
