Oil Change
Just a quick thing I want to check, I'm changing the oil on the bike with putting the new filter back on, is it enough to make it hand tight or does it ned more force when the new filter is put in place?

Re: Oil Change
Hand tight is good.

Re: Oil Change
I thought it was.....screw until contact is made, then use a filter socket to make 2 full turns of the filter (using writing as a marker).

Re: Oil Change
Yep hand tight is good... good and tight though.

Re: Oil Change
Hand tight. Don't forget to make sure old O ring isn't stuck to motor, also oil the new O ring.

Re: Oil Change
I do mine as tight as I can with bare hands and no more.

Re: Oil Change
Yup I did it! So new oil and plugs changed I'll keep am eye on the filter to make sure nothing is escapng, but all seems well.
I'll probally buy another air filter casue the one in there looks a bit dirty, with the odd dead fly wedge in for good mesure. The rest of the bike looks good, I'm give it a good clean, check everything else then it should be good to go. My chain looks in good condition, pads ect. So that my first bike service people:smt026 Its not that hard really is it? I'm gonna bu a few more tools, but apart from that not bad. |
Re: Oil Change
You're f###ed mate. It's all downhill from there, spending more on tools than you know what to do with ... spending more time in garage fettling than owt else...

Re: Oil Change
did you remember to put a dab of oil on the filter rubber seal before fitting, not a big issue.
