Upping Laptop's Graphics from 8MB to 358MB ???
Looking for some help with my BIOS.
I have an Acer Aspire 5920 with "Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family" graphics. At the moment it is only set to 8MB but I'm told it is capable of 358MB. I tried going in to BIOS settings but the display memory bit is blanked off (can't highlight it) and is set to 8MB. Any ideas how to adjust it? |

as far as i know.. you cant.
acer in there wisdom use a hacked bios.. if you could find an un-hacked version for the motherboard then its possible. personally i would leave it alone.. its shared memory so the more you take for graphics the less you will have for os/apps |

they dont make there own motherboards ... its probably set to 8 for heat reasons.. graphics chipsets in laptops can get rather hot and destroy components next to them or thereself.
i would also strongly suggest that you don't go poking about in your bios or flashing it with another hacked one unless you know exactly what you are doing. getting it wrong can turn your laptop compleatly useless. |
