sorry guys, probably a well flogged subject but ive tried the search to no real avail. can i lower the front of my naked curvy?? ie. lower the yoke down the forks slightly. would this help me feel a little more over the front of the bike? (which is what i would like to feel). haven't the foggiest how to do it, if it can be done, so any help or links wud be great ;)

You can, I had mine dropped about 7mm I think. Best to do it with a jack under the lump, the bike on a paddock stand. Make sure it's secure, and undo the pinch bolts on the top and bottom yokes, then slide the forks up through the yokes and re tighten the bolts on the yokes. You might want a hand just to be safe.
The other way would be to slowly let down the jack a few mm to the desired height, but there's probably a bit more chance of things going wrong if you're not careful.

It will quicken up the steering for you, a nice simply thing to do to improve your sv :)

excellent. anything to improve is a good thing :D just wanna get a feeling like im more over the front a bit, as currently i just feel a little like a lump in the middle of the bike..

Are not the forks on a naked a bit shorter than a Faired?

If so, you need to check carefully that the mudguard doesn't hit the radiator on full compression.

I'm not sure, I was under the impression that the naked forks were the same, just dropped through the yokes from the factory? Somebody who knows will be along shortly no doubt.
But yes, do as Pete says, you don't want to find out too late..

I think you can drop them about a Cm or so without fouling anything.The naked bike has them dropped as standard by about half that compared to the S IIRC

Nope, same forks as the 'S'

Correct, I wouldn't drop them more than 5mm on an 'N' but you may also find that better springs and oil may be needed.

Indeed, don't bother dropping forks as stock, the increase in weight on the front will practically bottom them out everywhere.

Naked and standard have same fork height, but the yokes are different so look different...

hmm.. had thought of that alright. wont do it so till i upgrade me insides. yorkie chris - ive seen that thread on front shocks but its way too much ****e n argueing for me to read. whats a good, not overly expensive front spring n oil upgrade? ;)
