Re: Dehydrated 6 yr old, just add snow!
riding in snow is only fun until you come off. I've stopped doing it now. Bizarrely I drove from the other side of sheffield to rotherham (don't know how far it is but some of you will know what kind of a distance it is) in really thick snow and a blizzard, yet when I went out in snow that was only a couple of inches thick and wasn't even still falling that's when I come off

Heh yeah, fortunately its not sticking today but will be extra cautious just for that little bit that will have iced up.
I've ridden in snow a few times, sounds like my experience is like yours second time out in snow on a 125 sort of slid out from under me in slow motion on a corner, went down to 1 knee but held on to it, picked it up with just the peg that scraped and carried on my way. Then with the CBR600 heading home 3 times the distance (still only 16 miles) in a blizzard, didn't drop it once, although did get it lodged in the gutter on a rural road, had to push/slide it almost 100 yards before the road slant stopped and I could move out again heh. the things we do eh? :) So i've ridden in snow and all in between with just the minor slide hiccup, then the first sunny day last year I fall off, on what? bloody dust! dried up mud! grr. |
