Number plate light colours
Is there any restriction of the colour of a number plate light?
I guess red isn't allowed but can I use blue? I need a plate light and plan to put in sime LED's but I'm struggling to get white ones. Will blue be acceptable (to the police and MOT people)? Cheers, Neil |

Re: Number plate light colours
Coloured lights are only allowed by emergency services . Strictly speaking it`s White for the front , Amber for indication , Red for brake and White for plate lights . Anything outside of that is a potential nicking .

Yeah, they'll send you to the Tower and you'll never be seen again!
Or, do what you like & live a little ;) |

LOL .... I have a Scottoiler Touring HCR mounted behind my plate and the light from the bulb barely gives the plate enough light , not got a pull for it yet , you can bet your bottom Dollar that if I put a coloured bulb in there the North wales Police would have me surrounded on the floor with batons drawn and my arms behind me trussed like a chicken :D

Re: Number plate light colours
You get LED number plate lights on ebay. I bought one of these but the 3 LED's didn't spread the light enough to light the plate so I got this one which is perfect. It's just stuck on with velcro
