2000 GSXR 750 vs SV

Ive been reading about the 2000 GSXR 750 and from the reviews it says the it has a very narrow powerband and nothing much happens below 28 million revs blah blah blah...

but in the real world, compared to the SV, is it going to have more power and torque right accross the range, in every gear?

I know im comparing a supersports bike to a sports tourer, so presumably it would also turn and stop better than my K3?

So.... to sum up.....

Is an older superbike better (on paper if not in the heart) than the SV?

Yes, my 93 CBR when de-restricted was much faster even down low.

Yes. I quite like them but bear in mind a bike of that age will need a bit of TLC. Chassis bearings and the like will be going off if they haven't been greased. Much like a similar vintage SV. P.s get a carbed SRAD instead... or better still an oil boiler

yep, tlc is all good. Im after a bike that i can work on as abit of a project. looking online the SRAD is heavier, bigger and dosent have USDs (yeah im a tart) thats why the 2000 750 caught my eye. Whats an oil boiler?

GSXR 750 SRAD (1996-1999) has an USD front end, it is the GSXR 600 SRAD doesn't.

The SRAD 750 does have USDs. That's where most SV USD conversions get bits from!

Oil boiler is the old school gixxer ... 1985-1995 600, 750 and 1100 slabside and slingshot models... oil cooled, cradle frame.

Nope. GS was, GSXR uses SACS. Twin chamber oil pump for lubrication and cooling.

Yeah they weigh a bit, the few I've ridden (not standard!) do hide it well when moving though.
