SVS US Imports

The spec is the same as the UK bike right? but what about pricing? were they much cheaper to buy than UK bikes and would a used one be worth much less than a UK equivalent now?

The US bikes have different specs depending on their location, I beleive California have harsher emissions laws.

Yup...there are "49 state bikes" .....and "CA bikes" which have catalytic converters, and other emissions carp.

Not sure about pointy's but US curvy's are of different spec.
No carb heaters on any US models.
And trans gears are different (ratio and more heavy duty) on US models vs. Canadian spec. models.

I think the UK spec would have a catalytic converter, I thought all EU bikes had to have them they just aren't as efficient as those in cars.

They don't have cat. K7 has a silly dual spark head. All pointies have silly PAIR system.

Even if it did have cat on it (K8 might, not sure) then there's no legal reason to keep it. Just replace it with a proper exhaust system.

Suzuki press release in 2001 when the S models first came to the US.
(Don't know if that's really true but they claimed a beefed up trans on US models)

The S model was available in Canada starting in 1999 and was advertised as a touring bike.

Prior to 2001....
Canada had only the "S" version.
The US had only the "N" version.

I know,I have Canadian model.
they all have same trans,sv400,650.
there are some small differences between 03 and others.just length of drive shaft.
400 have different primary gearing(crank to clutch).

I think that was misinterpreted, the 'S' has one less sprocket on the rear compared to the 'N'.
