Should a tyre crack after 4500 miles?

I had a set of Roadattacks fitted at Easter, lovely tyre, but the front has started to crack in the tread. It's not severe but the rest of the tyre has good tread all over, and I only commute 40 miles a day on A roads so it's not had a hard life. The rear is fine (although squaring off) and I regularly check and adjust the pressures (34psi front and rear).
Is this the end of the tyre or shouldI find someone to moan about it to
Cheers.

A tyre can crack quite early in it's life if it's run at a very low pressure, or if it's left near flat for a while, (although this usually only causes cracking where it's distorted, ie; on the floor), assuming you've done neither of these, take it back to where you got it and point it out, if your concerns are realistic, (not to suggest you're wrong - simply that I can't see the tyre), the supplier should help you out.

36/42 is probably a better set up although I run 38/42 for some reason.

You got a pic? Im wondering how extreme because little cracks in the tread groves shouldnt be a worry.

As to pressures. Id run 32 front and 36 back for the sv :)

Realistically 2psi either way isn't going to cause instant tyre meltdown.

Yep. That's what feels best on mine.

Road Attacks did that to me, but a lot earlier. Just keep an eye on the tread in the centre, it deteriorated (sp?) very quickly on my set that I had. Nonetheless (sp?) they were a great tyre.

Cheers fellas. I'll keep an eye over the next week or two but I'll also let the guy know where I got them. The cracks aren't vast but is seems that most of the centre tread pattern has them. I remember my BT020's did the same and the feel from the front end went awol quite quickly. I don't fancy that happening again, especially in this weather :(
When I do come to change, is there a good dual compound tyre to hold off the squaring of the rear?
