Injury Advice Needed

Ok, long story short.

A couple of weeks ago I was lifting a section of flight case with a guy at work and the wimp dropped his end, which swung round, wrenching my wrist pretty badly. It was bad enough that I went to A&E, where the doctor decided, by dint of just poking my wrist, that it wasn't broken, just strained. I was given a splint to wear, and told it would be better in a week.

Two weeks later it still isn't any better. I can't grip anything, as the moment I do I get a shooting pain around the base of my thumb and up my wrist. That just isn't right. I know I should go back to the hospital, and maybe insist on an x ray this time.................but I'm worried that if there is a break I'll be put in plaster and won't be able to get my leathers on!

What do you think? Does it sound like a break, or is it maybe just ligament damage that will get better if I continue to wear the splint?

Get it x-rayed, a couple of weeks in a cast is better than a permanently injured limb if it heals wrongly.

Lissa go to the hospital! Its better to be save than sorry!

Have you got textiles that would fit over the plaster if it is broken?

I'd definately get it X-Rayed Lissa. You wanna borrow a slightly bigger textile jacket? :)
How's Pete? Haven't seen any posts from him recently.

Go back to hospital and get x-rayed.

Whats a few weeks in plaster with no biking at this time of year versus a knackered wrist that gets worse and messes up next summer....

Yeah, I know I really should go back to the hospital.............I guess I'm just kind of hoping I'll wake up one morning and it'll be fine:D

I guess if I left the wrist zip undone on my leathers I'd be ok:D

Pete's fine thanks, Britney. Very busy moving three quarters of an SV from one place to another, hence the lack of posting:p

You've never been to Rubgy A&E have you?

I'll maybe give it a couple more days, then go after work on Friday. I'd better not get the same doctor though. The way he treated me the first time he was lucky not to be cleaning his teeth via his rectum!
