Facebook restores balance & order

OK, this is going to be a pretty long rambling post, so if you think you're going to get bored, please, for your own sake, stop reading now. :)

Still here?

Right, a little background. Back when I was at college, I was in a relationship with someone, I didn't really want to be, but I didn't see any way out of the relationship (the girl I was with was severely depressed, and a self harmer - I felt if I ended the relationship she may do something silly). Whilst in that relationship, another girl made it very clear that she was interested, pretty much offering it on a plate.

My feelings on that, were that if there was 100% certanty that my girlfriend wouldn't find out, I'd jump at the chance. I'd liked this other girl since way before I got with my then girlfriend (only handled the situation worse than Kinvig!!). So anyhow, I declined. Later, when I tried to explain my position to this girl, she made her excuses & we didn't really talk about it. Then she drifted away a bit, and we didn't really stay friends.

The way I handled all of that has really affected me for years, and it's been one of my few regrets in life.

Fast forward a little, to when I was at uni. I was with a different girl then. Me & my then best mate used to always talk about the girls we were with, in typical "lad at uni" fashion, in quite graphic detail. He decided to break the trust that we had, and repeat our conversations to the girl that I was with. Needless to say, she didn't take well to it, and because of the broken trust, I ended my friendship, she ended the relationship. This guy, was also in the same circle of friends at college as the 2 girls I mentionned above.

Since then, I've looked for the girl that never was a couple of times, but due to it being a fairly common name, found nothing.

Fast forward a little more, when I started using facebook, I added this guy as a "friend." We sent a couple of messages back & forth for a bit, but nothing much more happened.

Yesterday, I randomly looked on my profile, and who should this guy have just become "friends" with on facebook? Yup, the girl from college, or at least, someone with the same name. So I fired off a message.

Turns out it was her, and we've just spent a fair while catching up on old times. :) I haven't yet, but at least now I finally have the opportunity to say what I tried to back at college, if nothing else.

All is well, balance is restored, and TBH, I'm a very happy bunny at the moment.

Sorry .Org, just felt like screaming from the roof-tops, and you guys are the ones that heard it! :D

PS. Anyone that's on my facebook friends list, do me a favour & keep the above quiet, she's in a relationship now & I don't want to affect that. Don't be offended if I remove facebook comments.

Nice to hear you have managed to sort things out. :D

Nice little story well written. Sound like the guy who betrayed you was a nobber :(

Let us know how she handles what you tell her. :)

If she is as enquisitive as you, and you are a member of the SV650.org facebook group she might come look at this website and find it herself.

Good point well made, I was a member of the sv650 group, not the sv650.org group. But a quick googling will bring up this site.

So I've just left that group, never used it anyhow.

To be fair, good story though......funny what facebook can bring about.

My ex is on facebook, but I'm banned from adding her.

Would love to she what she looks like now and what she is up to lol

Facebook sometimes has its uses. Recently a friend of mine who I haven't seen in 5 years sent me a private message, with just the words 'ssssshhh, wheres Im Indoors?'

He disappeared off the radar, and we thought he'd been peculiarly thrown in the North Sea, but he has come back, and has done a lot of apologising, hasn't said where hes been, but has said he had a lot of growing up to do. I don't ask questions, I knew he'd always come back one day. Its great to be able to catch up, i managed to get him logged on to messenger, and we spent hours chin waggin on Tuesday night. Given time he'll spill the beans as to what hes been up to, but i think that will be when he eventually decides to do that in person
