new year party

as a jock in this funny land, New Year was always the bigger celebration back home - none of the christmas crap (far too expensive). I was thinking about having a wee new year get together. Would people be interested in this or does everyone just go to bed and wake up refreshed next year. Have not actually mentioned this idea to DD but I thought I would test the water.

Thought people could come over about 9, have a few tons of peanuts and a few drinkies, see in the new year and buggar off at about 1 or 2 am. We have floors if anyone wants to stay over but remember there will be a new baby in the house and a 6 year old, 12 year old and 4 16 year old jock girlies (calm yourselves) and a dog.

so what do you think?

Can I come along to this most excellent, provided my lovely wife allows me to. I think she's buggering off to Ireland anyway. Sniff.
