Computers WTF!

Mine has turned into a piece of Sh*t doesn't seem to want to work right, its getting very closed to be thrown out the god dam window its has ****ed me off that much:rant:

Anyway the internet isn't working properly yes its connected, however its slow as fuc*k sometimes won't load pages quickly, or at all. It takes several attempts to get a web load, I just Internet exploxer can't view/load this it could be the fllowing things....blah, blah.

This something that has happened before, then it went fine now is doing it again, what the hell.

Anyway its a 2.6ghz P4 512RAM, Windows XP Home, oh its about 5 years old as well. I got in fall 2003. However I don't see the need to have mega fast computer for what I do, as I don't really play games anymore just internet, watchin moives ect.

So how do I fix this, as I'm ****ed of now, why don't they just work and do what they are meant to do:compcrash:

Welcome to Hell :smt024 , you'll need to do a complete Systems Recovery , i go through this every 3 to 5 months , it's not that bad once you figure out how :smt120

oooohhhhh, the big question... 'how do i get all the crap out of my machine' answer, its a long and painful process.

or the quick method.. format and install (remembering to back up all your data first)...

things to consider when formatting:

make sure you have a copy of the licence key for windows and all the apps you have.
make sure you have all the relevent disks e.g. windows and drivers.
note down all your usernames and passwords for all your:
mail accounts
Forums
Internet connection
etc, etc.

format your hard drive and install windows again...

there is no quick fix, unless you employ the services of a reputable computer technician.

and it aint cheap. what ever you do DO NOT TAKE IT TO PCWORLD... you have been warned.

Well like Bibio said there is no permanent fix , but there is a way to get back to normal for at least a few months ......Remember this though , you will loose some stored / downloaded info (I personally only use my PC for the Internet so it's no big loss for me )

This is what i do Click Start go to All Programs , go to PC Help and Tools , there are 2 options you can take
Systems recovery , this will restore your PC to an earlier time and you wont loose any Downloaded Data (just follow promps)

System Restore , in this option it will bring your PC to the same condition as it was when you brought it home when you bought it....you will loose all data and downloaded files (better make sure you have it backed up) and follow promps .

It takes about 1 1/2 hours for System recovery.

since you're going through the trouble of restoring/recovering I would personally save all important data and format the drive. this will erase EVERYTHING and you will need to cleanly install everything from scratch.

have u got a windows xp cd? have you got CDs for your motherboard? if yes to both I'd go ahead and format it

I'd take the pleasure of taking it out for a final walk in the woods - then just when it isn't expecting it...

... take to it with a 20lb sledgehammer!

Then pop off down to the shops and get a new one.
Hope that helps. ;)

Have you run the various adaware removal stuff that is freely available on the t'internet? Lots of spy type files bolt on to your system and slow you down big time...some other people on the .org are very knowledgeable about this. Personally I have previously used Adaware and Spybot to remove these types of files. Google is your friend.:smt023

Try deleting everything in your temp folder.
Sometimes that speeds thing up.
