You know anyone that fits PS2 modchips

Had one done by Ghost2Fitter (who were excellent) but even though modchips are now legal they are still under an injunction from Sony that means they cant work on their kit.

Argh, this has turned into a minefield!

I've trawled the 4 page of threads from above, and am more confused now.

What I want to do, is get the Wii to the same state as my PSP, i.e with custom firmware that will run homebrew and ISO files of my existing games, i.e backups.

So, I install the chip (once I've chosen the chip), then can I not update the firmware any? With the M33 custom firmware for the PSP - updates are very good.

Can I have this on a Wii?

Heh, I got a PS2 from them too. Awesome bloke.

The only thing I can suggest would be the slide magic swap system. Bit of a pain but if you want to play those copied games it's great.

You don't need a chip anymore. There are programs which you can download onto an SD card, put in the wii, copy, hey presto. Do a search for wiigator loader. ;)

I meant to say, i run this loader (as well as others) on my wii for playing my backups. The only thing you have to remember (for the moment) is not to accept/install any new updates from nintendo once you are running the loader.

Think wiigator *may* have been blocked with the latest wii update.
Ive got the wasabi v2 chip, not had any problems with it yet... though unless you are experianced at soldering very tiny things, id get someone who is to do the chipping...
as far as i know its fine to get the latest updates for the wii
